Hello. I’m Dr. Shaun Brown MD. I’m an ER Physician, and its my job to help people when they need it the most.
I have experience across all levels of patient care in hospitals throughout the U.S. I completed my undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Binghamton University, and I received my medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. I completed my Emergency Medicine Residency in June of 2015 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
“I understand the value of listening to patients, who know their bodies and their situations, and can contribute to their own care. I believe that more time spent with the patient means a better diagnosis and better outcomes.” – Shaun Brown MD.
My professionalism stems from a thorough understanding of my field.
And my calm demeanor and focus on bedside manner allow me to diffuse the tension from a crisis. I am licensed in New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, with additional certification in ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS, and others.
Before my career as a doctor, I spent 7 years in the New York Air National Guard, flying with C5 units, and achieving the rank of Senior Airman. My time in the military helped to build the perspective that allows me to keep my head in difficult situations. While earning my degree at Binghamton University, I also rowed on the Binghamton Crew Team, winning Nationally in men’s doubles. Ultimately I had to make a choice between taking my Crew skills to the Olympics, or pursuing a career as a physician. It was a tough choice, but I chose the latter. While its always nice no reminisce, I have no regrets in dedicating my life to medicine, and building the skills that help people.
